Step into the exciting world of artificial intelligence with the Advanced MakerLab – AI: Machine Vision program, a hands-on, 6-month journey where students learn to automate real-world tasks using digital image processing. Guided by industry mentors, students dive deep into cutting-edge AI concepts like face detection, object recognition, and more as they build their own AI-driven projects.
All projects culminate at MakerFest 2024, where students compete for top honors. The competition includes five (5) Major Awards, judged by industry experts, and one (1) Favorite AI project voted by visitors.
This is your chance to take on real-world challenges, push the limits of AI technology, and get ready to automate the future. AI is calling, and you’re in the driver’s seat! Join us as we celebrate our students achievements at the award ceremony on 1st December after the 2-day showcase.
The MakerLab Secondary School Program: Unleash Innovation!
In this dynamic 6-month program, students from secondary schools take on the exciting Instructables Project. Teams of 4 students each are guided by industry and PSC mentors throughout the project’s development. It all begins with project selection from a provided list. Once selected, students acquire materials and follow instructables.com instructions diligently to bring their innovative products to life.
The journey culminates at MakerFest 2024, alongside PISF 2024, where completed projects compete for top recognition. School teams showcase their creations to esteemed judges, and the Instructables Project Champion is announced at the PISF 2024 award ceremony on 1st December at SPICE CONCOURSE Stage.
Projects are also open to public voting for the coveted Most Popular Project Awards.

The ultimate test awaits at Makerfest 2024, where students will flaunt their skills navigating a challenging 2-day course. The coveted top prize for the ultimate 4X4 will be determined based on speed, control, and durability, promising an exhilarating competition for all participants.
- Rampage Rumble Challenge: An adrenaline-pumping obstacle course featuring 27 expertly designed tracks by PSC, plus 2 ingeniously crafted by students themselves.
- Drift & Dash Challenge: An exciting high-speed race to victory.
- Most Popular Car & Track: The ultimate winner is decided by public visitors through a voting system, where some lucky members of the public can even take the wheel and experience the specially designed obstacle course.
- Young Makers: Teams with participants under 12 years old.
- Open category: Teams with participants over 13 years old.
The Ultimate Egg Transport Challenge!
Get ready to flex your problem-solving skills in this hands-on Mechanical Construction Competition! Based on core physics principles, challengers will face the ultimate test to build a gadget with limited resources that safely transports an egg from high to low ground without a single crack!
This challenge is open to day visitors of all ages, with sign-ups happening right on the spot. Earn an exclusive Completer Tag if you successfully complete the challenge, and all gadgets will be scored. The top 3 builders will walk away with exciting mystery gifts.

Join us for a weekend of fun and learning on 30th November and 1st December 2024, from 9am to 5pm, with a range of engaging activities designed to inspire young minds:
- Kaleidoscope: Children can create their own optical toys, forming beautiful patterns that introduce them to the world of colors and shapes, sparking curiosity and creativity.
- Tangram: This classic puzzle game challenges kids to arrange geometric shapes into unique designs, building spatial awareness and problem-solving skills.
- Fun with Maths: Make math fun and interactive with playful activities that introduce basic math concepts, turning numbers into an enjoyable learning adventure.
- Origami: Kids can explore the art of paper folding, transforming paper into intricate shapes while boosting their creativity and fine motor skills.
- More Arts and Crafts & Games: Let imaginations run wild with a variety of arts and crafts projects, alongside engaging games that ensure endless fun and creative expression.
InclusiveSTEM Showcase, where the hard work and creativity of these young minds will be on full display.
Visitors are invited to witness students demonstrate their STEM toolkits, featuring everything they’ve learned. It’s an inspiring opportunity to see how, with the right support, students with hearing, physical, and learning disabilities—including autism and ADHD—can flourish in STEM and even become the innovators of tomorrow.

Powered by HP Malaysia and Penang Science Cluster, and in collaboration with Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Kedah, we’re bringing digital literacy and creativity to life. Teachers are learning cool micro:bit programming, and students are unleashing their tech skills to create amazing projects.
You’ll get to see the top winners from our October competition showcase their brilliant ideas, using micro:bit, smart home sensors, and even recycled materials. It’s all about innovation, sustainability, and empowering the next generation of tech innovators.
